If you are living in South Carolina then you know what today is! You can hear it on radios, national television, local television, internet, newspapers and all over your Facebook page!

No it's not just the Thursday before the Labor Day holiday. It's college football season in the south and you can feel the excitement. Today's opening game (SOUTH CAROLINA vs NORTH CAROLINA) that has everyone glued to the tv tonight or playing Sandstorm in their car or at work. If you don't know what I am referring to CLICK HERE

The South is not only passionate about their family and traditions, but don't mess with their college football. It's a form of religion in South Carolina. Whether you are an SEC or ACC fan it is football, and that's what binds us together. It's not just the guys because a woman in the South will also trash talk and argue when it comes to her college football team also. It is all in great fun, and if you take it so serious you start bar fights or disown family that's way too far!

I remember growing up in the Lowcountry in Charleston and coming home from middle school on the big yellow bus. I now look back and feel bad for our bus driver. The "State Title" game Friday on the way home the two side yelled at the top of their lungs all the way home back and forth, "CLEMSON, CAROLINA, CLEMSON, CAROLINA" windows down for the world to hear. It wasn't a short ride either as we lived on the edge of the county line, so about 30 minutes of torture for the driver.

I have since moved to the heart of Gamecock country (Columbia) and while I am a die hard CLEMSON TIGER fan, I feel the excitement to in today's game. The trash talking has started and will last til the New Year, and we have all been waiting for this season to start. While baseball is America's game and basketball season came and went, college football is the sport of the South!

You will see everyone wearing their game gear, little girl's in their cute little cheerleader outfits, facepaint, and of course your Facebook account will be flooding with nothing but college football trash talking. If you aren't a football fan deactivate your Facebook account because it will be a long season.

Enjoy all the college football festivities (safely), have fun showing your pride this season, we wish all the best for the players, and remember CLEMSON RULES!!!!!!!!!!
